A Religious Response to Global Warming
The mission of Interfaith Power & Light is to be faithful stewards of Creation by responding to global warming through the promotion of energy conservation, energy efficiency, and renewable energy. This campaign intends to protect the earth’s ecosystems, safeguard the health of all Creation, and ensure sufficient, sustainable energy for all.
GreenFaith is an interfaith coalition for the environment that was founded in 1992. We work with houses of worship, religious schools and people of all faiths to help them become better environmental stewards.
Dan Holohan taught at our national training conference in 2000. He understands all kinds of heating systems… and people affiliated with them. He writes, “I’m not a contractor, and I’m not an engineer. I’m a writer and I have a passion for heating systems, especially those older ones. The bug bit me in 1970. What makes a steam system work? What do all those big pipes, valves, fittings and odd devices in the basement do? How does hot water heat work? How can it be more efficient. I asked lots of questions and read plenty of old books. And then I wrote a bunch of my own. You’ll find them in our Store, along with a lot of other cool stuff.”
